It started with a phone call. Mike Hendershot from Emanuel Church reached out looking for a meaningful community service project — and we are so glad he did!

This past May 23rd, approximately 10 volunteers from Emanuel Church’s two men’s groups showed up and completely transformed the flower beds in front of our Habitat for Humanity office and ReStore. Mike didn’t just make a call — he designed the entire landscape plan himself and led the team every step of the way.

These guys worked hard all day — pulling out overgrown plants, prepping the beds, laying fresh mulch, and planting every new addition by hand.
And they didn’t do it alone.
